ABOUT ME
Welcome!
I’m Colette Carriere, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Nursing Degree.
I aim to help and support women during the most transformative time in their lives. I’ve been through it myself. I have a lot to offer professionally and personally and I have the knowledge and experience to pass on.
Throughout my 20+ year nursing career, my continuing education focused on postpartum, breastfeeding education, and emotional adjustment. These skills enable me to provide patients, clients, new mothers, and families with essential support. I can help with beneficial behaviour change to meet challenges and reach goals. I have the communication skills needed when assessing past trauma and the knowledge to provide valuable information and proper resources when establishing change. I’m also an osteopathic manual practitioner student learning and understanding anatomy and physiology on a deeper level to help mom and baby connect to nurture.
My career as a nurse, caretaker, and supporter has provided me with valuable skills, enriching experiences, and wisdom to share. I have had the pleasure to walk with many women and families on their journeys. I am grateful––their trust in me is truly a gift!
Credentials:

My Breastfeeding Story
I’ve been working with breastfeeding women my whole life. I am a mom too! I’ve breastfed two children while overcoming my own challenges. And even with all my knowledge and experience, it provided a whole other level of understanding of how connected the physical and emotional wellbeing of mother and child can be. I’ve had the experience of what so many women can undertake and overcome. However challenging it was at times, it was worth it. I’m stronger than I realized—and more compassionate for it!
